This article explores the redefinition of costume design as an art object within the context of postmodernism and examines its role as a form of expression that transcends conventional boundaries. The author emphasizes that costume is not merely a functional garment, but also a carrier of philosophical, aesthetic, and cultural messages. In the postmodern era, costume design is enriched through individualism, symbolism, and multidisciplinary approaches, thereby serving as a bridge between the fields of art and design. Through various examples and analyses, the article demonstrates how costume is utilized in exhibition spaces, performative arts, and experimental design practices. Ultimately, within the postmodern context, costume design is presented not only as clothing, but as a powerful visual and conceptual medium that reflects the spirit of its time.
