The article scientifically analyzes the interrelationship between the concepts of function and fashion in seasonal clothing design. Achieving a balance between function and fashion in seasonal clothing design is one of the most important theoretical and practical issues in the contemporary apparel industry. While function reflects the garment’s comfort, protective qualities, material performance, and suitability for use, fashion defines its aesthetic, cultural, and social values. Creating harmony between these two concepts is a fundamental task for designers.
Research indicates that the seasonal factor directly affects both the technical and aesthetic parameters of clothing. During the summer season, lightweight, breathable, and light-colored materials are preferred, whereas in winter, protection and durability become the primary considerations. At the same time, fashion trends influence changes in garment shapes, color palettes, details, and silhouettes.
