The field of fashion design has historically developed through a combination of aesthetic and functional aspects, but in recent years, the rapid development of technology has brought new opportunities to the design process. The research conducted on the topic of “Beyond Trends: Creative Experiments in New Media and Fashion Design” explores innovative approaches emerging at the intersection of fashion and new media technologies. This article first examines the role of trends and standard methods in contemporary fashion design, and then analyzes how new media tools – 3D modeling, augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR) and artificial intelligence (AI) – are used by designers for creative experiments. The article also emphasizes the aesthetic and functional contributions of technology to the design process, as well as its role in the creation of personal expression and interactive fashion objects. The research results show that new media technologies allow not only to visually enrich costumes, but also to establish an interactive relationship with the user. Through interactive clothing and digital experiences, designers are shaping a different concept of creativity in the fashion industry by increasing the interaction of users with clothing.
