Abstract

This article provides a detailed study of the physical and mechanical properties of ceramic construction materials produced in Azerbaijan. The main objective of the research is to compare the quality indicators of various ceramic products manufactured in the country with international standards and to determine the optimal conditions for their use in the construction industry. Ceramic construction materials, particularly bricks and tiles, are widely used in construction, and their quality is of special importance for both the durability and longevity of buildings. Therefore, analyzing the physical and mechanical characteristics of locally produced materials and assessing their compliance with international standards is essential.

Within the framework of the study, systematic laboratory experiments were conducted on various types of ceramic materials. The analyzed samples included the most commonly used ceramic bricks, ceramic tiles, and technical ceramic products. One of the key indicators of these materials is compressive strength, which reflects their ability to resist deformation under load and the structural stability of constructions. Additionally, physical properties such as water absorption, density, porosity, and frost resistance were examined. Water absorption is particularly important in humid environments, as high water absorption can lead to rapid material damage under freezing and thawing conditions. Porosity and density indicators provide information about the material’s weight, thermal conductivity, and mechanical durability.
